Plower Power Pork    It has been our goal to raise our animals in as natural a way as possible, both in diet and environment.  In keeping with our goal we have used the pigs we raise to till the ground in preparation for each additional garden we have added.  The pigs graze off the grasses, root up the sod, and condition the soil, so that all is needed to prepare for planting is a quick till before the growing season begins.  We have a wonderful neighbor and farm patron who drives his garden tractor down and does a beautiful job refining and smoothing the soil.   So far we have been able to add a plot for strawberries and corn and this year we will be expanding the corn and adding potatoes.  The pigs grain and pasture diet is supplemented with milk from our dairy cow, Gentle, along with garden produce and excess seasonal fruits.
